thought might try it when things are a bit more settled with home, in my neck.
I know that some physios do it now, so feel a bit more reassured that it is not a few hippies sticking pins in with an air of mysticism!
Has anyone tried it?

Hi Jenni,
I almost tried it for my shoulder! The physio kept saying she would do it and I was willing to give it a try but she never got round to it and I had a steroid injection instead. I keep reading that it's helpful for RA.

yes i used to have it for painfull neck and shoulder . My Friend does it and she has done my hubby .She likes you too eat and sleep well while you do a course As hubby had it for pain to help the body heal . it might hurt in a place if you are inflamed .But it will hurt before its done so you might not have it there . other wise it does not hurt .My friend uses heat lamps where the needle is .( she comes from china ) think its good it it works for you as takes away pain so no painkillers . christine The chocolate eating housewife ...The washer woman .....naughty lady

Yes, I had a course from a physio a few years ago but didn`t feel any benefit from it, unfortunately. Kathleen x

I had a course of this Pre- Diagnosis. Mine was with a Chinese Herbalist, and was for terrible headaches. I understand the theory, but is still seemed a bit magical, and worked wonderfully. I would happily use it again.

I did this when I was working pre RA. think I might try again once RA is under control as a bit weary of pins sticking into bones when bones are not happy. My acupunturist gave lovely massages afterwards and my hardship was pulling myself of the massage table to go home as I was ready to fall asleep. Wonderful. oh and the massages were aromatheripic picked to fit my mood. Ah blliss.....

Hi Jenni,
I have tried acupuncture its great I have not used it for pain but for muscle toning and getting rid of muscle spasm you get if your muscles are tight, this happens when you are in pain and your muscles tense.
I first had it privately and felt did not work so went to the GP to see what she recommended the GP referred me to a GP surgery in the next town the GP had been doing it for over 20 years and she is really, really good.
I would say ask your GP for a recommendation.
I think anything alternative treatments you get some good and some bad but check with you GP as they usually get good feed back on the good ones.
I hope you find it helps you.

I would use a Chinese acupuncturist as they are usually the most knowledgable and experienced in this natural method.
They also really need to be fully educated in Rheumatoid...

Hello My physio gave me acupunture in my knee for 6 weeks, 30 min session each time. Complete and utter waste of my lunch hour. Steroid injection into my knee however.......bliss!! But some people do insist it works so you never know until you try yourself. Mmmmm, fuzzy.....
